Abstract
The geographical position of Sungai Pinang District are between 017'30-0 30'00" South Latitude and 11706'00" -11722'00" East Longitude, with the land area is 34,165 Ha. Characteristics of rain in this area are in the Area Class Ill (1500 -2000 mm/ year). With the Bimodel or Double Wave rainfall models with C pattern. The high rainfall period is on December to April, and the low rainfall is on September to November. The level Q = ± 9.2 %, or rainfall type A (very wet area with tropical wet vegetation) and El ogroclimate zone. Water Ba/once monthly indicated that this area have potential growing season about 9 months, have to water surplus 8 month (472.6 mm year'Jand water deficits about 3 months (44.5 mm/year).
