Abstract

Pemedas Bay Beach, located in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, is located in the Samboja sub- district region at the position of 116°50'BT–117°14’BT and 0°52'LS-1°08’LS, east of Balikpapan City which has a unique character beach area, nice view where at the moment used by fishermen professionals. Tourism is one of the sectors developed for revenue from Kutai Kartanegara Regency outside Oil and Gas, where oil and gas productivity continues to decline each year so that it affects the development of a region and the rate of development of tourism depends on the identified tourism potential in each region. This research is to find out the potential of tourist attraction in Teluk Pemedas Beach, Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method by taking a sample using the Purpose Sampling technique. Where data collection in this study is to use observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study were then used as input for the development and management of the tourist area on the Gulf Coast of Pemedas as a development and management strategy derived from existing potential and supported by existing policies and organizations.
