Abstract

This study aim was to identify the diversity of terrestrial orchids inEducation Forest of Forestry Faculty of Mulawarman University. The research plot was established by using single plot method of 100 × 100 m2. Data collection was done at sample plots sized 5 m × 5 m. The result showed that 705 clumps of orchid composed of 5 species was found in the study plot. The dominat species were Phaius tankervillie (242 clumps), Dipodium palodosum (201 clumps), Arachisflos-aeris (193 clumps), Cymbidium atropureum (37 clumps), and Vandopsis lowii (32 clumps). Phaius tankervillie has highest diversity index of species, dominance index, and sum of domanance ratio.
